Discover The Tinnis Trust

At The Tinnis Trust, we are dedicated to creating a safe haven for horses and providing support services for those in need. Our team combines their passion for animal welfare with a commitment to uplifting vulnerable human lives.

The Tinnis Trust is a registered Scottish Charity that provides:

A Safe Haven for Horses and Humans who Need it the Most.

Our Charitable Objects are:

 1) To promote humane behaviour towards horses by providing appropriate care and attention by reason of sickness, maltreatment, poor circumstance or ill usage and to educate the public in matters pertaining to horse welfare in general and the prevention of cruelty and suffering.

2) To advance in life survivors of violence and abuse, NEET young people and children who are fostered, adopted or in care.

Mission

Safety, Ethics and Professionalism

Our mission is to ensure that equine assisted services are easily accessible for all, including those with backgrounds of poverty or relational and developmental trauma, and that they are provided with the highest levels of ethics and safety.

Vision

Equality and Accessibility

Our vision is a world in which the benefits of horses are for everyone, not just the privileged few, and where horses are valued not just as tools or vehicles but as healers, teachers and companions. They live in peace,  die with dignity and are cared for with respect.

Values

Horse and Human Welfare

The Tinnis Trust is a high-welfare, trauma-informed, horse-centred charity that values peer support and lived experience leadership. It is our belief that those with personal experience of an issue are uniquely qualified to help others.
